This 8-week completion course, A.K.A. Bootcamp, is intensive course for those who wish to get a desired score in a TOEFL test within a short period of time by committing themselves to studying for 6 weeks in a systematic way.
The essential information on fundamental knowledge and test skills for TOEFL iBT is given in advance for learners to start their study whenever and wherever they want.
After studying with the pre-recorded lectures, learners will join the scheduled live teaching sessions with Karen. Through this interactive session, learners can consolidate the knowledge and skills they have studied.
Their learning outcomes will be boosted through their engagement in a community where they can get notifications about news, share their feedbacks on writing and speaking, and ask questions, which will be monitored and answered by Karen
Learn how to be a master of your learning (autonomous learner)
Familiarize yourself with using assessments as a learning tool (assessment for learning)
Consolidate your learning by sharing your thoughts with your peers in the community (giving and taking feedback)
Learn how to apply your knowledge and skills to TOEFL iBT tests (test skills)
Improve academic English skills in general (academic English skills)
Become a lifetime friend with Karen! What a bonus!
What is the prerequisite to this course?
As this is an intensive course, your commitment to learning while actively involved in the community activities for 8 weeks is a key. If you have taken a TOEFL iBT test before, you can benefit more from this course, but not a prerequisite.
Do I have to be involved in the community?
No, but it is highly recommended.
First reason is that studying is a lonely journey so you will get motivated by others in the community.
Second, indirect learning from peers would be as beneficial as direct learning from a teacher. You will be surprised of how much you could learn, only by reading others’ thoughts.
Third, your main assignment and feedback will be provided in the community.
And lastly, you can benefit from notifications on what to do, like having a personal trainer! So, although it is NOT mandatory to join the community, I highly recommend you join it for better outcomes.
Do I need to purchase textbooks?
No, all the textbooks, handouts, and the vocabulary book are made by Karen, which will be automatically provided when you sign up for this course. You will find all the resources downloadable when you start.
Do you provide the recordings of your live sessions?
Yes, I know how busy everyone’s life can be and sometimes unexpected situations can arise, preventing you from joining the scheduled sessions. So, after each live session, all the recordings will be shared with you. But it is always better for you to join the live sessions and interact with me for better outcomes.
